ATLANTA, GA - Flying the friendly skies? More like the fiery skies! Passengers on board a Delta Airlines flight were stuck on the runway due to a rain delay Wednesday, when they got quite a show.

A bolt of lightning struck another plane near the tail. An electrifying Twitter pic shows the exact moment the bolt hit the aircraft! No one was hurt. The plane was bound for Las Vegas, so we'll just call it a lucky strike.

Later that night in North Carolina, some Fort Bragg soldiers were lucky to survive a strike. 60 soldiers were doing some 'live fire' training, when lightning struck close to the group, injuring 18. 16 went to a hospital for treatment, but none of them were seriously hurt.

The National Weather Service says lightning strikes have killed 22 people this year.
