CADILLAC, MI – A man is in custody after allegedly breaking into an apartment with a knife, telling the resident, “You’re going to smoke some weed with me right now.”

A victim told police that he was sleeping on his couch when the intruder broke in with a knife.  After being confronted by the intruder and being asked to smoke weed with him, the victim stalled the intruder until he set the knife down.

Cadillac police officers found the suspect behind the residence where he had fallen down a steep hill.  The man, 36, resisted officers but was eventually taken into custody.  He was checked for injuries after complaining of wrist pain from police handcuffs.

Authorities expect to charge the suspect with Home Invasion, Resisting and Obstructing Police, and for a Probation Violation.
