Robber changes mind, flashes thumbs up when he recognizes clerk, police say

WHEAT RIDGE, Colorado -- Deputies says a crime at a convenience store was averted when a robber walked away from a heist after recognizing the clerk at a Colorado convenience store.

Just before noon on Wednesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office say a robber walked into a Quick Save and recognized he clerk and decided not to rob the store.

“I was going to rob this place, but I know you,” the suspect told the clerk, deputies said.

He then asked the clerk, “Do you know me?” The clerk replied that he didn’t, deputies said.

“Good” the suspect replied and walked out of the Quick Save, while giving a thumbs up sign to the clerk.

Shortly, afterwards, a 7-Eleven is just over a mile away from the Quick Save was robbed by a man fitting the description of the suspect at Qucik Save.
