ISTANBUL, TURKEY - Some scary fears are coming true as we learn more about the deadly terrorist attack in Turkey that killed at least 44 people and injured over 250 more.

Turkish officials now say that all three suicide bombers in the attack at Instanbul's Ataturk Airport were from the former Soviet Union, with one being directly from Russia.

But investigators claim there's strong evidence that the three terrorists came to Turkey from Syria about a month ago and brought some bombs and suicide vests along for the ride.

The men reportedly rented an apartment in Istanbul, where one of the attackers left behind his passport.

Even though no one has claimed responsibility, investigators say the attack was extremely well-planned with ISIS leaders involved!

Some leaders here at home agree. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said "this has the hallmarks of an attack by ISIL."

Turkish police reportedly carried out 16 raids overnight and rounded up 22 suspects connected with the attack, including 13 arrests in Istanbul.

Authorities say they've identified a Chechen terrorist as the mastermind behind the attack.

Meanwhile, airports in the US have ramped up security with lots of heavily-armed cops.

Understandably, everyone is a little nervous and on edge-- especially with the Fourth of July weekend here.

And our CIA Director John Brennan actually says we should be a bit worried. "It would be surprising to me that ISIL is not trying to hit us both in the region as well as in the homeland," Brennan remarked.

That's not exactly reassuring but all the more reason to be on alert!
