WASHINGTON — The latest revelation in the presidential election has some calling the controversial race Weiner-Gate, thanks to Anthony Weiner.

The disgraced congressman’s sexting scandal led to his political downfall and collapsed marriage to one of Hillary Clinton's top aides, Huma Abedin.

Weiner and Abedin shared a laptop computer. The FBI seized it and stumbled on Clinton's private e-mail server.  Now they want to do a full search. Weiner activity isn't the only thing that might come up!

Donald Trump is calling this "The biggest political scandal since Watergate."

Hillary Clinton says, "It's pretty strange, to put something like that out with such little information, right before an election.”

By discussing Clinton's private server, some say the FBI director broke the law, specifically, the Hatch Act, which bans federal officials from any political activity.

"In a general way, perhaps he took too far a step into the political realm,” says Brandon Rottinghaus, a Political Science Professor at the University of Houston. “But, I don't think it's necessary a violation of the Hatch Act."

At least 21 million people have voted, so far, across the country, and we've seen a record number of early voters throughout Harris County.

Will this late October surprise influence voters a week from Tuesday?

"My mind was already made up," says Chad Gross. “But I do believe it was news that needed to be broken to the public."

Mia Underwood agrees.

"Yeah, my mind had already been made up," she said.

Trey Carmouche adds, “I don't think anything could change my mind at this point."

A CNN poll averaging the five most recent national polls gives Clinton a five-point lead. Included is a Washington Post survey showing her just one percentage point ahead.

'We never thought we were going to say thank you to Anthony Weiner,” says Trump.

Welcome to Weiner-Gate! Where everyone gets grilled, and nothing seems kosher!
