Farewell Guide: Barbara Bush to lay in repose at St. Martin’s Church

HOUSTON -- The Barbara Pierce Bush Foundation has released information regarding funeral and memorial arrangements for the beloved former first lady, which will be held Friday and Saturday.

Mrs. Bush will lay in repose Friday at the St. Martin's Church at 7171 Sage Rd. All members of the general public wishing to pay their respects to Mrs. Bush may do so between noon and midnight.

Visitors must park at the Second Baptist Church on Woodway, where they will go through security. The parking lot will be opened from 10 a.m. and can be entered from Voss Road.

Houston Metro is providing shuttles to transport visitors— including those with disabilities— s to and from St. Martin's, starting at 11:30 a.m. Passengers are not allowed to bring large bags or backpacks— of course, weapons are also prohibited.  Once inside the church, phones must be turned off and photography is not allowed.

The funeral service on Saturday is invitation only.

All invited guest must park at Second Baptist Church and go through security. Metro will be providing shuttle transport to and from St. Martin's on Saturday, as well. The same rules apply.

After the funeral service, the motorcade will go through Memorial Park and head to the Bush Presidential Library in College Station.

If you want to view the processional, police advise the public not to park or block any roadways.
