ORLAND, CA – At least ten people are dead after a charter bus carrying high school students crashed with a fed-ex tractor trailer on Northern California Interstate five.

According to California Highway Patrol, “There was a FedEx truck going southbound on I-5 just north of the 32 exit. For an unknown reason, it crossed through the center divide and collided head-on with this bus.”

The bus and the FedEx truck caught fire.

The flames gutted the insides of both.

Firefighters helped some of the victims away from the scene, many of them injured, most of them students on their way to visit Humboldt State University and attend the spring preview day.

As of now, police say the dead include three adult chaperones, five students, and the drivers of the bus and FedEx truck.
