YONKERS, NY – Like a scene out of a horror movie, city workers in Yonkers, New York, stumbled on a gruesome sight.

“They were doing a cleanup in the lot behind us,” said Ernest Lungaro with the Westchester SPCA. “During that cleanup, they discovered several deceased cats.”

All in all, authorities discovered about 30 dead cats in bags hanging from the trees. The three they examined were all killed by blows to the head.

Stray cats can be spotted wandering around the area, and it’s hard to believe someone could harm these defenseless creatures.

Even scarier — the SPCA says this serial cat killer has been active for at least a year.

Authorities are working on tracking this sicko down, but for the time being? Yonkers residents might want to keep their feline friends indoors.
