NASHVILLE, TN – Four family members are dead after a small plane crashed and burned near a YMCA gym outside Nashville.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the Gulfstream 690C had left Great Bend, Kansas and was headed to John C. Tune Airport in Nashville.

It crashed only 10 miles southwest of its destination.

Investigators think the pilot steered the plane away from the YMCA just before the crash.

If it weren’t for that pilot, more lives could have been lost.
