CAIRO, EGYPT – It’s been 9 months since the Egyptian army ousted their President Mohamed Morsi, an active member of the Muslim Brotherhood. With the coup came a wave of violent unrest that led to the murder and arrest of hundreds of members of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.

After months of imprisonment 529 men were dealt their fate. An Egyptian court sentenced them to death for their crimes ranging from murder, storming a police station and damaging private property.

It is the largest capital murder punishment ever handed down in the country’s history.
