HOUSTON, TX – It’s a heckuva charge: a credit and debit card scam where instead of one person getting totally burned, a lot of people get screwed a little bit.

The Better Business Bureau says we should all check our statements for random charges of $9.84.

Usually credit card companies hunt for, and alert you to phony charges. But the BBB says thieves may be banking on companies not responding to such a small amount. If you get hit, report it and get a new card.
