WASHINGTON, D.C. — Talk about pulling an 'about face!'

Not only has Playboy done away with pics of women with their clothes off....but now the legendary mag is going in the opposite direction-- showing a woman covered up in a hijab!

"I'm so excited!" Noor Tagouri announced on Twitter.

The 22-year-old Muslim-American journalist becomes the first woman to appear in Playboy wearing a hijab-- along with black jeans, sneakers and a leather jacket.

She appears in the October issue of the men's magazine, and her spread really is all about the articles.

Tagouri was named one of Playboy's 2016 "Renegades" in an issue highlighting people who have risked their lives to do what they love.

She will be appearing along with other renegades including a novelist, a sex activist, and a comedian.

Although Tagouri has been praised by many for her decision to pose for Playboy, she's been called out pretty harshly by some critics, too.

Leave it to Playboy to stir things up over a woman posing — this time, maybe with too many clothes!
