ATLANTA, GA – Parents! Ever get the question, “where do babies come from?”

Awkward, but now you can tell the youngsters, “not from American women!”

The CDC says pregnancy rates for American women dropped by 12% between 2000 and 2009, which is nearly 6.4 million fewer pregnancies. It looks like American baby-makers are poppin’ em out at the lowest rate in 12 years!

Those are just the rates for women under 30, however.

The rates for women over 30 have been increasing steadily since 1990. Specifically the number of women between 35 and 39 has jumped by 30% since 1990.

So, if the picture of the American family really is changing, maybe now moms will finally get the credit they deserve.
