Artist transform blocks of ice into works of art

HOUSTON, TX – Ice! Almost all of us like it in our drinks, but most people could probably care less about the stuff, and these guys…well, they’re making sculptures with it!

Over at Discovery Green, acclaimed ice artists from all over the country came prepared with chainsaws and razor sharp chisels to transform giant blocks of ice into amazing works of art all in just 5 hours.

The ice slabs are created from more than 1,500 galls of recycled rainwater and get this, the ice will be used to water the park’s landscaping following the competition keeping Discovery Green…GREEN!
