HARRIS COUNTY, TX – After a Houston toddler died from being scalded with extremely hot bath water, her babysitter now faces charges.

Back on July 31, investigators say Carmen Pleasant was watching the 2-year-old girl. Neveah Cornwall suffered such severe burns from the hot water that her skin came off when touched. Worse yet, investigators say Pleasant didn’t even call for help until 12 hours after Neveah suffered those burns. The little girl died at the hospital.

Pleasant is charged with injury to a child by omission.
