KATY, TX - Black Friday shopping started early at Katy Mills Mall: at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving! Thousands of shoppers didn't let the holiday get in the way of their deals.

"[I] usually do online shopping, but decided to come out and meet people and see what's going around," said Arselan Jan. "We've been surprised by all the deals we're seeing."

Though Katy Mills was the first stop for Jan, others had already hit other stores as part of an overnight shopping marathon.

"I just got back from Target," said Jennifer Upham. "It's kind of stressful."

Katy Mills opened at 6 p.m. on Thursday and closed briefly from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. before reopening for another round of true Black Friday shopping.
