Brazilian hospital patients robbed at gunpoint

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Talk about taking advantage of people at their worst. Check this out: armed robbers storm the waiting room of a hospital in Rio de Janeiro and force patients, employees and family members to empty themselves of wallets, jewelry, phones and anything else they could get their hands on.

Surveillance video captured as many as ten assailants going room to room in the hospital pointing guns at victims and taking anything they could get. Many of the folks robbed were patients waiting to be seen by doctors. The whole episode lasted less than five minutes and afterward robbers drove away in several cars.

So far police have not identified the men, but you can imagine there is a special place down under for someone who would rob sick people waiting to see a doctor. After all, isn’t the cost of prescriptions and healthcare robbery enough, nowadays?
