DENVER, CO - Conference championship weekend is here. With the field down to four, some Denver devotees want to prove they're forever fans.
"This one being the first Bronco helmet," said Joe Trujillo, pointing to one of his many tattoos. "This is the second one. Then I have the early '90s, late '80s and then I have current."
Trujillo is one of many Bronco believers coming through the doors of Monkey Fist Tattoo, kind of the unofficial tattoo parlor of the Broncos themselves.
"They like coming to the shop," said Ortavio Griego, who's tattooed about 30 players. "We treat them like normal people. We don't blast that they're here, so we don't have the crowds of people coming in to take pictures."
Fans like Trujillo get the team's logos and helmets, but what kind of designs do the players prefer?
"They're mostly religious," Griego said. "A lot of the team gets religious tattoos or memorial tattoos."
The ink's a way to remember a feeling, a player or a season like this one for Denver's forever fans.
