LAKE JACKSON, TX - It's been 20 years without Selena, but the legend she has become will live forever.

Fans remembered the life and songs of Latin pop icon Selena Quintanilla Perez at her monument in Corpus Christi, the place where she was murdered in 1995.  But the Queen of Tejano also has a place of honor in Lake Jackson, her birthplace.

"The Selena Exhibit is a private collection on loan from Mr. Frank Herring of Houston and it is on display in the museum until April, 18", said Ande Larsen, services coordinator at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum.  "This exhibition commemorates her birthday, death and her last concert in Houston."

She was definitely a trailblazer, helping bring Latin music to the mainstream and leading the way for so many Hispanic artists such as Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, who played Selena in the acclaimed film about her life and career.

"I've got the privilege to hear and see her and it's been an honor", said Dalia Quintanilla, a fan visiting the exhibit.

Selena left us with her beautiful smile, music and dreams.  Twenty years have passed and we still could fall in love...
