CHINA -- He may have been responsible for millions of people dying, but Mao Zedong is the People's Republic of China's founding father. So if you have something bad to say about him, zip it.
Popular Chinese TV host Bi Fujian is learning that lesson the hard way. After mocking Mao in a video that went viral, he was suspended from his job and now the state says he deserves a "severe punishment."
The communist party says the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television has ordered CCTV, Fujian’s employer, to punish him for "a serious violation of political discipline."
Fujian apologized for him remarks, which were part of a song that he sang at a dinner table amongst friends. The video went viral in April, and he was suspended shortly after.
