HOUSTON, TX - Fire crews experienced a sad case of deja vu Thursday after they battled flames at a south Houston home twice in the same day.

Houston firefighters were called to the scene near Palm and Burkett earlier on Thanksgiving, but thought they put the fire out. However, they say because the roof's shingles had been improperly installed in layers, the flames reignited hours later and did a lot more damage the second time around.

Crews say the attic roof caved and the second floor was completely destroyed. A firefighter was also treated for heat exhaustion.

If there's any silver lining, crews say it's that the family who lives here wasn't home when the fire broke out.
