HOLMES COUNTY, MS – It sounded like the punchline of a joke or even an urban legend. A man, presumed dead, waking up inside a body bag at a funeral home. Except this time, this story was real.

It happened in Mississippi to 78-year-old Walter Williams. He suffered from congestive heart failure and had been in hospice care when he was mistakenly pronounced dead. After waking up a few hours later, Walter went back home with his family. It wasn’t long before he got his pair of angel wings…again. Walter really lost his battle and was officially pronounced dead by the county coroner.

The family says they were just happy they got to spend two more weeks with Walter, and now they’re ready to say their farewell—for real this time.
