Forget the casket, get buried in a biodegradable pod and grow into a tree instead

It's a dead serious issue. Going six feet under in a big steel casket is not very green (and let's face it, green is really the new black).

So, an Italian duo has come up with a new burial design that basically involves putting lifeless bodies into large biodegradable pods (one per pod, to be clear), which then get planted, and serve as nutrients to grow a tree above!

The folks who hatched the biodegradable egg idea say they dream of cemeteries of the future looking like "sacred forests." Granted, they're still excavating the idea. But to some, it sounds like heaven.
