NAPLES, FL – Things are looking up for one little girl in Mississippi.

Three-year-old Victoria Wilcher was attacked by three pit bulls back in April. She lost her right eye and suffered several facial scars.

Not long after that, Victoria’s grandmother says Victoria was asked to leave a KFC because her scars scared the customers.

The story has been called a hoax, but this hasn’t stopped one Naples, Florida doctor from wanting to help.

Dr. Raymond Peters plans to give Victoria a new eye.

The generous doctor has been making prosthetic eyes for 50 years.

Here’s how it works.

Peters will make a mold for the custom-fitted eye, then a Las Vegas physician will perform surgery to attach it and Dr. Peters will paint in the eye color by hand.

He says she’ll need about 20 or more artificial eyes over the next 10 years, to coincide with her growth.

That’s a lot of focus toward a full recovery.
