WESLACO, TX – U.S, border policies are not the only immigration fails these days. Baptist Child and Family Services learned the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished.

The Texas-based organization reportedly has nixed its plan to use a $50 million federal contract to buy the Palm-Aire Hotel in Weslaco, TX, and turn it into temporary housing for immigrant children from Central America.

It seems the idea of some kids going from South Texas detention centers to a resort with pools and a fitness center did not sit well with folks who don’t want the kids in the United States in the first place.

Arizona state representative and congressional candidate Adam Kwasman may be responsible for one of the biggest immigration fails in recent days. While speaking at a rally in Oracle, AZ, someone told him that a bus full of kids was on its way. How perfect was that? Protesters, cameras, and a school bus full of immigrant kids. It’s a candidate’s dream.

He even tweeted from the scene: Bus coming in. This is not compassion. This is the abrogation of the rule of law.

The bus did not carry immigrant kids, however, but kids on their way to a YMCA day camp. Then Kwasman made it worse by deleting his tweet, which only showed up later on the Politiwoops Web site.

To his credit, he later tweeted a couple of apologies, but it was too late, because by then he was “bus-ted.”
