HOUSTON, TX – FYI – a bunch of folks thought they could run from the law overnight. But, one dude on the northwest side of Houston gets the unwanted prize for ‘most creative hiding place.’

It all started when deputies tried to pull the man over for a traffic stop near Gessner and Hammerly. He apparently didn’t want to cooperate so he took off, leading police on a 30 minute, high-speed chase on highways and through neighborhoods between Highway 290 and Highway 249.

The man’s flight came to an end when his car crashed in front of Parkway Chevrolet on Highway 249. So, naturally, he ran off and hid inside the dealership.

“We set up a perimeter. Sheriff’s department came out with a dog and found him in the back of a pickup truck,” said a lieutenant with Harris County Constable Office Precinct 1.

Ha, nice try. Maybe next time the wannabe escape artist will come up with a better plan.
