WASHINGTON, D.C. – Will she? Won’t she? Will she? Won’t she? It seems the minute President Obama was re-elected, politicos turned their attention not to getting the economy right or convincing Congress to play nice but to Hillary Clinton running for president in 2016.
Barbara Walters asked her last December if she would, and she said, “I really don’t believe that that’s something that I will do again.”
But that wasn’t good enough for some folks. When Hillary started a new website to promote her speaking engagements, folks said, “A-ha!! I knew it!” Granted, she called it “hillaryclintonoffice.com” as in ‘Hillary Clinton’s running for…’ but hubby Bill did the same thing after he left the White House.
Still, her fans will not be deterred. In fact, they’ve already set up Super-PACs to support her. The most popular’s probably “Ready for Hillary.” Kooky cajun James Carville and Harold Ickes, a longtime Clinton aide with a gift for fundraising, are both on board, along with 78,000 Facebook fans.
But to put that into perspective, Snooki has more than 5.5 million fans. (Think she’d consider being VP?).
Husband Bill has been coy when asked about Hillary’s possible run, saying, “America will have some very good choices for president in 2016.” While daughter Chelsea said her mom would make “the right choice.”
So who’s the other side got to face-off against Hillary? The unquenchable Marco Rubio, Paul ‘P90x’ Ryan and Tea Partier Rand Paul are the frontrunners in one recent poll — all relative newcomers to Washington compared to Mrs. Clinton.
So it could be a pretty smooth ride for her back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue … that is, if she ever decides to run.
