HOUSTON, TX – Dr. Daniel Garner has been appointed the new President and CEO of Houston’s Forensic Science Center, also known as the Crime Lab.

His resume includes working for the Department of Justice to improve forensics all around the world. Mayor Annise Parker says he has also headed-up a commercial lab, as well as forensics for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

But this may be a different story. Houston’s crime lab is known for backlogs, and it is knee-deep in a transition from being run by the cops, to the city.

At least Dr. Garner is comfortable with science experiments!
