HOUSTON, TX – The family of 40-year-old Jason Lewis are looking for answers in death of Lewis’ on April 16th.
“I hope no other parent will have to go through what Vicky and I are going through now,” says Jason’s father, Doug Lewis.
Lewis was being treated by Houston Fire Department paramedics, after his girlfriend and mom allegedly found him breaking mirrors and cutting himself at a home in West Houston.
The Houston Police Department claims Lewis got violent with paramedics, so they cuffed him — then Lewis started banging his own head on the ground until he stopped moving.
That’s when, according to the police report, the cuffs were taken off and paramedics performed CPR on him, but later died at Memorial City’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The attorney for Jason’s family, Randall Kallinen, isn’t buying the news from the report, “The medical examiner also did share with us that his injuries were not consistent with self infliction.”
HPD is not commenting on the case until after the investigation is over. The only known facts the Lewis family has is their son was beaten and bruised by someone, and is now dead. Definitely a case that leaves you feeling black and blue.
