HOUSTON – We all know J.J. Watt, the six-foot five, 289 lb defensive end for the Houston Texans. Have you ever thought about what it takes to tackle an appetite that size?
Word off the field, J.J. eats between 6,000 and 9,000 calories a day. It’s like eating three to three and a half large pepperoni pizzas, from Papa John’s all by himself.
J.J. reportedly told ESPN he wasn’t eating enough fats and healthy oils to keep up with his workouts. Many of those calories come from eating 20 chicken breasts, 50 slices of bacon, and more than a dozen avocados. When he’s not working out, he’s pretty much eating.
Being able to do what J.J. does on the field takes quite a bit of discipline. Apparently he was too disciplined. J.J. wasn’t getting his cheat meals. You know, like the really good, bad stuff. He says brunch is his favorite.
They say cheaters never win, but that depends if eatin’ is cheatin’. We’ll see if it helps him score more poundage on the field.
