PALM BEACH, FL – Life’s full of the unexpected, and that’s why protecting yourself and your loved ones is more important than ever. We insure our cars, homes, even our lives. So, now’s as good a time as any to talk to your family and your insurance agent about getting an “Exploding-corpse Policy” in place.

That’s a conversation Floridian, Judy Rodrigo, only wishes she’d had before moving into a Palm Beach condo.

Rodrigo lived in a downstairs unit and, sadly the single-woman who lived above her died. No one found her corpse for two weeks! So, it started to expand and eventually exploded.

Liquid eventually started seeping into Rodrigo’s apartment (along with the foul smell of death) and that’s when Rodrigo decided to sue her insurance company for not covering the damages.

Unfortunately for Rodrigo, a court ruled that her policy didn’t cover damages caused by bodily explosions.

That kind of lame answer probably made Rodrigo’s head explode. Wonder if she had to clean that up, too?
