NEW DELHI, INDIA – India’s Supreme Court has reinstated a more than 140-year-old law that makes sex between homosexuals a crime.

Under the law known as section 377, gay love making is considered a “carnal act against the order of nature,” and is punishable by 10 years in prison.

Four years ago an Indian court decriminalized the harsh law; but Wednesday the country’s highest court resurrected it.
