HOUSTON, TX - The Young family is sporting royalty at Jack Yates High School.  Currently, Jacob is starring on the basketball team, following in the footsteps of his dad, Michael, and his brother, Joe.

"They taught me hard work," Jacob said of his family. "Hard work beats talent. They led me through the process, and I got better and better."

As a point guard, Jacob enjoys helping put his teammates in good spots, but also knows he has to be willing to score.

"When I play basketball, I feel like it's the end of the world, so I play my hardest," Young said. "I want to finish off the year strong and set an example for the younger classes."

While Jacob has a goal of playing in the NBA, like his brother Joe is currently doing with the Indiana Pacers. The next step will be to play at the University of Texas next year.  Jacob says the family atmosphere at UT is what drew him to choosing the Longhorns.
