From his tent cities to making prisoners wear pink boxers and eat bologna sandwiches, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has had his share of criticism and controversy.

Racial profiling has now been added to the top of the list. Last summer, several Hispanics went to trial with a claim that Sheriff Joe’s deputies pulled them over and detained them simply because of the color of their skin.

The sheriff and his crew have always denied the accusations, but a judge found otherwise and has ordered the department to stop using race as a factor in law enforcement.
