Parents who actually sit down and reason with their children are more likely to persuade their kids to stay away from drugs.
Houston’s Kelly Peyton, a licensed professional counselor, says if reactions from parents are too intense, it doesn’t leave any room for conversation.
However, teen smoking is at the lowest it’s been since the government started collecting that kind of data in 1991.
Teens today participate in other risky behaviors like texting and driving.
