COOPERSTOWN, ND – There’s nothing like the bond between a boy and his dog. And a family in North Dakota is pretty grateful for that right now.

When Courtney Urness went to check on her 3-year-old son Carson, and couldn’t find him – like any mom, she panicked.

200 volunteers showed up to search for the wandering tot, who was lost on the 2000 acre family farm, on a dark and rainy night.

Luckily, Carson had his inseparable pal to keep him company; the family dog, Cooper.

After an intense six hour search, including a highway patrol aircraft, dog and boy were found. And apparently Cooper was the right dog to keep Carson safe.

The 3-year-old told his mom that when he got scared, his furry friend laid with him and kept him warm until help came. Now, this top dog is being hailed as a hero.
