BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana’s known for some good southern eating, and apparently zombies got their share of the pie.

A state audit reveals more than a million dollars in food stamps were given to dead people. Over a four year period, from 2009 to June 2013, 3,938 cards were used after a person’s death.

Since food stamp cards are issued one per household, and there’s no telling how many people live in that household, this makes it nearly impossible to find out who actually used the cards fraudulently.

Looks like this leaves the state’s Department of Children and Family Services at a dead end.
