NEW YORK, NY – They say good things come to those who wait; and Marvin Rosales Martinez knows that all too well.

After waiting for an entire year Martinez is finally taking home a cash payout of nearly $800,000 from the New York Lottery.

The landscaper was cleaning up debris from Hurricane Sandy last year when he found a million dollar winning scratch-off lottery ticket in a pile of leaves.

Because Rosales Martinez couldn’t prove he was the rightful owner of the ticket; he had to wait. But all that waiting paid off when he was given a big ‘ol check for $779,000.

A lucky guy with a whole lot of patience.
