HOUSTON, TX - Police chases are common enough in Houston, but you don't often hear about a suspect trying to elude officers on a scooter, though that's exactly what HPD says happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

A Houston officer spotted a man on a scooter going the wrong way on the North Freeway feeder road near Parker St. The officer pulled the man over, but the suspect just scooted away. A chase ensued, but it was not what you'd label high-speed; the scooter topped out at 50 MPH. The suspect was caught near Airline Dr. and Tidwell Rd. Turns out, he had a felony warrant out for his arrest.
