HOUSTON – Houston’s mayor kicked off a new initiative to get local teens and young adults more summer internships and jobs on Thursday.

Sylvester Turner says he’s getting the Hire Houston Youth program started by guaranteeing 450 jobs with the city at parks, libraries and even City Hall itself. The goal is to give new opportunities to people between the ages of 16 and 24.
