HPD: Mother intervening in sons’ argument stabbed in southwest Houston

HOUSTON -- Houston police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed  a mother who intervened in an argument involving her sons.

The attack happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Riverwood Drive.

According to police, the woman heard her sons arguing with another man in her front yard, and when she went outside to see what was going on, the other man allegedly stabbed her.

Police say one of the woman's sons pulled out a gun and exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who took off.

The mother was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
