HOUSTON, TX - Eleven people were hospitalized after an overnight house fire in northeast Houston.

Crews got the call at 5:37 a.m. from a home in the 6800 block of Bacher. Twelve people were sleeping inside the home when the fire broke out, but residents say they woke up to the smell of smoke and hurried to get all the kids out as quickly as possible.

"We pray a lot and it was only God who allowed us to wake up and we were able to save them," said one resident.

Firefighters say the victims all made it out of the house on their own, though the home is likely a total loss.
