BRENTWOOD, NH – A suburban home in Brentwood, New Hampshire explodes just after a police officer was fatally shot there.

Officer Stephen Arkell was responding to a domestic disturbance call at the home. When he went inside, he was shot to death.

New Hampshire Attorney General, Joseph Foster said, “The shooter is believed to be Michael Nolan, age 47. Another police officer arrived and entered the home but was driven out by gunfire.”

Shortly after more cops arrived, the house caught fire, then suddenly it exploded!

No word on what caused the explosion but cops believe the shooter died in the fire.

What an awful day for Arkell’s family and the community. One of his two daughters is about to graduate from college.

Officer Arkell was 48-years-old, a 15-year veteran with Brentwood Police Department and very active in the community as a youth coach in the school system. A hero gone, but not forgotten.
