HOUSTON, TX – Hermann Park has a new splash of color, public art that might just brighten your day.

The artist, Orly Genger explained, “It’s made out of rock climbing rope, that then I hand knotted and painted. It’s a piece that really responds to the location.”

About 100 separate pieces, that all together measure as long as a football field.

Genger transported her artwork called ‘Boys Cry Too’ from New York, where it was shown last. The name suggests that even though it’s muscular and heavy it still has a soft side.

“When you find something as beautiful as this, its just, I mean just a moment to stop and break your rhythm, but it`s just amazing,” said Felipe Salazar who was riding his bike along the trail.

Part of the Art In The Park series, these colorful ropes can be seen here for the next year.

Now, as you walk along the Brays Bayou, you’ll be able to enjoy the river of colors flowing right next to it.
