WHITE PLAINS, NY – At a gas station in White Hills, NY an off duty State Trooper stops to get gas, when he has to make a premium rescue.

John Vescio can be seen just starting to fill up his tank in the gas station surveillance video, when a Toyota runs right into the pump, igniting a fire that causes Vescio to run for his life.

Seconds later his training kicks in and Vescio runs back toward the fire to pull the 69-year-old driver, who had apparently blacked out behind the wheel, out of the burning car.

Both men were hurt, but are expected to be fine. Talk about a close call!
