CYPRESS, TX - The Ogwumike sisters have been a dominant force in the Houston area basketball scene for the last decade. For the youngest sister, Erica, basketball and family go hand in hand.

"I have three sisters, Nnemkadi, Chiney and Olivia. We play basketball and enjoy it. It's kind of cool to just see us all do the same thing, but in different ways," Ogwumike, a senior at Cy-Woods High School said.

With her two oldest sisters being WNBA All-Stars, Erica is trying to reach a higher level. Her next step will be to join her sister, Olivia, at Pepperdine University next year.

It's clear though, the Ogwumike family values education above basketball.

"My GPA is a 6.9 out of a 7.0 scale. I'm fourth in my class of 776 people," Erica said.

In addition to being a great student, Ogwumike prides herself on motivating her team. She tries to lift her team's spirit in the huddle, and she's also willing to help any teammate with their school work.
