A Queens, NY father has been arrested after allegedly shooting a realistic toy gun with his young kids in a crowded park.

Jack Pawlowski took the toy gun and his two children to Ditmars Park and fired pellets at a tree.

The gun was so realistic it freaked out parents, especially when he handed it to his 3-yr-old son to play with.

“At first I thought I was hallucinating,” Maria Smilios of Astoria told a local station.

“He pulled out this gun. The next thing, he took his son, who is 3, and showed him how to use it, and then the family took turns shooting the gun. He gave it to his daughter, who took off on the bicycle and started racing around the park with the gun pointing this way and just started pointing it at the kids.”

Pawlowski’s wife said she felt like a victim because of how people “overreacted.”

Pawlowski is charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest and possession of an illegal BB gun.

Seems a little harsh. If anything he should be charged with bad parenting decision and scaring people.

And that’s today’s helping of The Online Dish with Maggie.
