HOUSTON, Texas - Hey, movie lovers, it's time to see the stars shine!  On Sunday night, the fascinating world of big-screen actors, actresses and directors will squeeze into your TV, phone or tablet to reveal who's going to win the Oscars and who will have to drink to forget.

We don't have the crystal ball yet, but here's the next best thing: the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema conducted a poll among Houstonians to predict who is going to climb up on stage, lift the little dude and thank the Academy for those fifteen seconds of immortality.

"American Sniper looks like it's goning to win Best Picture according to our poll with our audiences," said Robert Saucedo, Programming Director of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Houston.

Well, this is Texas, so no surprises on that one.

"For best actor, it looks like Bradley Cooper for his role in American Sniper is going to take the honors," added Saucedo.

Okay, keep going… what about best actress?

"Julianne Moore for Still Alice was the top choice among our guests," he said.  "For best supporting actor, it looks like J.K. Simmons for his role in Whiplash is gonna be the top choice.  Best supporting actress was Patricia Arquette for the Houston-shot film Boyhood.  For best director, the top choice among Houston audiences was Richard Linklater who's actually from Houston."

But what's the expert's pick for best movie?

"My prediction for this Sunday is that it's gonna come down to two choices: Boyhood or Birdman," Saucedo concluded.

We'll have to wait and see.  So, get comfortable, grab your popcorn and enjoy the magic.
