VATICAN CITY -Hundreds of thousands of Catholics gathered at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City Sunday, to witness the canonization of Popes John XXIII and Pope John Paul II. Pope Francis performed the unprecedented ceremony; the first time in history two people have been raised to sainthood in a dual canonization.

John Paul II is still fresh in the minds of many, but perhaps not so much Pope John XXIII. He’s the one that convened the Second Vatican Council that allowed languages other than Latin to be used for mass.

Whew that’s good, cause our Latin is a little “incrassatus” .. Err… rusty.
