HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets limped to a slow start in the best of seven series when they lost Game 1 on Monday night, but on Wednesday the Rockets were able to even the series when they beat the Clippers 115-109.
The Clippers were playing without All-Star point guard Chris Paul for a second consecutive game as he nurses a hamstring injury. Los Angeles was led by Blake Griffin who scored 26 points in the first half as the Clippers would lead 65-56 at the break, and he would finish with 34 points and 14 rebounds.
The Rockets had six players score in double figures as they stepped to the free throw line 64 times in the game, and they’d hit on 42 of those attempts. James Harden paced with Rockets with 32 points as he went 15-15 from the line. Dwight Howard added 24 points and 15 rebounds as he was 8-21 from the charity stripe.
Game three will be Friday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
